Our customer requested Philford to replace a hooped ladder, which gave access to a chute maintenance platform due to safety concerns. They requested a permanent stairway be designed to allow safe confident access to the maintenance area.
Philford attended site to carry out a survey of the potential stairway locations and surrounding steelwork. We then presented Drax with several options for access in a 3D format. On approval of the chosen option our design team carried out final design in line with British standards and associated calculations. The manufacturing and build up works were completed in-house. Philfords completed the full project by carrying out the onsite removal of the old ladder and installing the new access stairway. The installation was challenging due to the position within the building it was located and also the extreme height from ground level.
