Philford received an order to carry out the complete renewal of the delivery /drive end of 55 salt conveyors on the surface of Compass Minerals Winsford Mine. The project included the complete site survey of the existing conveyor structure and supporting steelwork.
Calculations where carried out by our design department to confirm the correct drive power requirements and the subsequent loading effects of the newly designed steelwork. The delivery end was fully fabricated at our premises and manufacture included the drive and snub conveyor drums. The assembly was fully build up in our factory for inspection by the customer prior to sub-contract specialised painting works being applied. Philford completed the project by carrying out the removal of the old delivery end and support steelwork and then installing and commissioning the new delivery end assembly.
