Philford Design Engineers were successful in winning the tender for the manufacture and installation of the new 517-235 surface potash conveyor and associated feed chutes during 2014.
The customer supplied a full set of manufacturing drawings for the conveyor and partial drawings for the chutes, the additional required design works and inclusion of liner plates for the new chutes was carried out by the Philford’s design team. The manufacturing and build was completed on an extremely short lead-time and required full project management throughout the whole project.
As the conveyor was for a surface application in a highly corrosive environment the conveyor and supporting steelworks required painting in accordance with the customers internal manufacturing and painting specifications. The conveyor and chutes were installed by Philofrd’s site men in conjunction with the customers own site team during a strict 10 day shutdown. The completed works involved the removal of the old conveyor, support steelworks and feed chutes followed by the full installation of the new conveyor and chutes ready for commissioning.
